Returning to Midland again this year are Dr. Scott Stoll and Dr. Michael Greger, who will be joined by two new presenters, Dr. Doug Lisle and registered dietician Brenda Davis.
This all-day seminar includes sessions from the speakers, a delicious plant-based lunch, book signings and two Q&A sessions with the experts. Learn about the benefits of a plant-based diet and hear testimonials from those who have experienced the radical benefits of this lifestyle. Find out how a plant-based diet can prevent and reverse chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and more.
Food Is Medicine is being hosted this year by Healthy City, a new non-profit whose mission is to increase education and raise awareness throughout West Texas on how to improve overall health, nutrition and wellness and how to prevent and reverse disease from a scientific and medical research-based perspective.
LOCATION: Midland, Texas
FOOD: A plant-based lunch and snacks are included in the ticket price.
LODGING: Many hotels are located about 6 miles Northeast of the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center, off Highway 191 and Tradewinds Blvd.
TRAVEL: Wagner Noel is located 10 minutes from the Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) airport and is a 5-8 hour drive from Austin, Dallas, San Antonio or Houston.
About the Speakers
Dr. Scott Stoll, author of Alive, will give an overview of the foods that build a healthy, disease-free body and how to raise healthy children.
Dr. Michael Greger, author of New York Bestseller How Not to Die, will present the leading causes of death and how they are impacted by diet.
Dr. Doug Lisle, author of The Pleasure Trap and clinical psychologist, will discuss food addictions and offer insight into our biological processes.
Brenda Davis, a Registered Dietician, will give an overview of how to design an optimal plant-based diet and address nutritional concerns.
